ABOUT US
Our Music
Second world war atmospheres, virtuosity and poetry of the world jazz icon Django Reinhardt meet the tastes of Italians popular melodies, gipsy euro french swing rhythms meets italian swing popular songs, by the great authors such as Carosone, Buscaglione, Conte, Bongusto. Past to present: these are Clan Zingaro cardinal points: gipsy swing jazz manouche considered as a reference in the Italian contemporary and international jazz scene.
Clan Zingaro, with their distinctive sound, elegant but at the same time sober and original compositions design an contemporary gypsy jazz music world in continuous movement, contaminated by the most diverse cultures of the globe: electric turns, ethno world music bytes, big band atmospheres, visionary pulp cinema orchestrations. Spaghetti Gipsy is a contemporary manifesto of a glorious, naive, romantic and equally decadent Italy in black and white, where gypsy and french rhythms enhance its features with a new contemporary vital energy, where elegance and historical memories reflected in the simple postcard-songs of the period are revealed with renewed vigor and impact.
This song, together with this video, represents our personal manifesto for the freedom of musical expression and free thought: an anthem of disobedience that remains, above all, loyal to love. Humanity has always strived to represent, imagine, and communicate its thoughts and ideals through art and music—sometimes purely for entertainment, and sometimes as a direct or indirect voice for a wide range of ideas, movements, and beliefs. Art and music are powerful means through which humanity has conveyed messages of freedom, respect, and brotherhood, especially during the most challenging and critical moments of history, revealing its many faces and contradictions without necessarily passing judgment, and inspiring listeners and viewers to reach their own conclusions, emotions, and reflections.
“Non Dire Una Parola” is an instrumental track that delivers a strong and impactful social message through its video and the narrative of its images, which are an integral part of the work. For this reason, we felt no need to add any lyrics or words beyond what the music and visuals already convey.
Django’s Roots is a project that draws from the timeless genius of Django Reinhardt, bringing his spirit to life through a contemporary lens. Guitarist Daniele Gregolin leads a sonic journey through gypsy jazz, swing, and modern improvisation, weaving his phrasing together with the lyrical, elegant vibraphone of Gabriele Boggio Ferraris. All of it is powered by the refined, pulsating energy of Massimo Manzi on drums. The result is a living music—one that honors tradition while renewing it with freedom, virtuosity, and remarkable expressive intensity.
Our story
Gypsy rhythm meets the songs of Renato Carosone, Fred Buscaglione, and Paolo Conte; the virtuoso fervor and poetry of Django Reinhardt’s elegant, gypsy guitar icon meets the taste for Italian melody and songs from the swing era, past and present. These are the cardinal points of Clan Zingaro, an ensemble of musicians from diverse backgrounds united by the rhythm and passion for gypsy swing, or jazz manouche. They have been considered a benchmark in the Italian and international jazz scene since the release of their first album, Spaghetti Gipsy, which brought them to international prominence.
